Apple AirTag Helps Recover Stolen Car!
The Apple AirTag is a small electronic device that allows users to easily track important items such as bags and keys. Using Bluetooth technology, this device communicates with nearby Apple devices and sends its location information to iCloud. Thus, users can locate the item to which the AirTag is attached.
According to reports, a man named Paul Conway, residing in Leeds, England, noticed that his Nissan Pathfinder SUV was stolen while he was at work. Initially unsure what to do, Conway remembered attaching an AirTag to the car. He then decided to track the signal based on the location information received. Of course, he also notified the police in the meantime.
At the end of the day, Conway was reunited with his SUV. He expressed disbelief and started trembling when he learned that his car had been stolen due to his deep attachment to it. Fortunately, the day ended happily.
Apple AirTag has become a deterrent product for thieves. In fact, in the United States, the NYPD (New York City Police Department), in response to the increase in car thefts last year, began distributing Apple AirTags for free to car owners.
In late 2023, the Gavino family, traveling from Miami, Florida, to the mountains of North Carolina, noticed that one of their bags was missing after landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. However, they were able to find it quickly thanks to the Apple AirTag.
